WORKSHOP ON “ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS AND INNOVATIONS ON PROJECTS

 In view of developing the young student individuals of the college into entrepreneurs, Guru Nanak Institutions has set up a Entrepreneur development Cell in the college which runs under the Visionary of Dr. H. S. Saini, M.D, GNI, Dr. Rishi Sayal, Dean, Academics & Training, GNI and Dr. S. A. Sreenivas, A.D, School of Pharmacy, GNI. As a part of EDC Cell activity, Dr. H.S. Saini , M.D. and Dr. Rishi Sayal has requested Mr. Ashok Kalbag, Managing Committee member of Vigyan Ashram, Pabal and Mr. Shekar Kulkarni, Chairman, USIT , Pune to give insights on Entrepreneur development skills to a batch of students of GNI.

Engineers Day celebrations by EEE Department of GNITC

Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya’s birth anniversary observed as Engineers’ Day was celebrated by Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology on September 15, 2014.


The staff and students of the department were gathered in seminar hall. Prof P.Parthasaradhy Associate Director- GNITC, in his address highlighted the significance of the Day and enumerated the key role and responsibilities of the engineers.


As part of Engineers Day celebrations appreciation certificates were distributed to students who actively participated and contributed to the department. Various technical events such as Technical Quiz, Debate, Group Discussion and One minute talk were conducted and winners were awarded by attractive prizes.

ICIEEE Pre Conference Tutorials

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of GNITC and GNIT organized the Pre Conference Tutorial on 27th August, 2014 on “DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING AND SMART GRID” by eminent resource persons, Dr. K. Manjunathchary, Professor and HOD ECE Department from GITAM university, Hyderabad and Dr. M. Vinod Kumar, Professor 0f EEE Department from NIT, Warangal.

In the Inaugural session, Prof. P. Parthasaradhy, Associate Director of GNITC, Dr. M. Narendra Kumar, Vice Principal of GNIT, convener and HODs of EEE department addressed the gathering.


The pre conference was conducted in two sessions. The First session was taken by Dr.K.Manjunathachary on DSP and around 300 students of 3rd Year and 4th Year students of GNITC and GNIT have attended it. He explained in detail from fundamentals to the latest techniques used in DSP. Dr.K.Manjunath chary discussed about importance of digital signal processing and he also the various real time applications of digital signal processing in electrical engineering.


During the second session Dr.M.Vinod Kumar explained elaborately to the students about the grid, and what is a smart grid and how generating stations are connected to grid and what happens if grid fails and also about black outs.

“International Conference on Innovations in Electrical & Electronics Engineering”

Department of EEE, Guru Nanak Institution Technical Campus & Guru Nanak Institute of Technology jointly organized International Conference on Innovation in Electrical & Electronics Engineering on 5th & 6th Sept,2014. The Inaugural Function started at 10.00AM with brief report by the convener Prof. K.Sreelatha . Dr. H.S. Saini GNI – Managing Director addressed the participants and advised the role of Engineers to protect the nature and develop the energy saving equipments. He said GNI is planning to start Energy Park in the Campus.

The Chief Guest Sri. D. Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of TS GENCO explained about the upcoming Generation unit in Telengana State and also the job opportunities in the Power sector.

More than 500 Research scholars & Faculties from various countries across the globe sent their papers and participated in the Conference.

Workshop on ELECTRICAL SAFETY MEASURES AND FIRST AID

Electrical And Electronics Department of GNITC organized a workshop on “ELECTRICAL SAFETY MEASURES AND FIRST AID” on 21st August, 2014 by an eminent resource person Dr. M. Sanjeeva Rao.

During his interaction with the students, Dr.M.Sanjeeva Rao discussed about various sorts of Switch Gears used for protection and also described briefly about Transformer Protection and Concept of Grounding.

He also explained about Interconnection of loads, Circuit Breakers, Relays and many more electrical protection equipment.

In the end, Dr.Rao emancipated the scope of Electrical Engineering and the need of Electrical Engineers to the society.

Workshop on Switch Gear and Protection

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus and Guru Nanak Institute of Technology jointly organized a workshop on 5th August 2014 on " Switch Gear and Protection" by an eminent consultant and resource person Mr. J. Venkata Swamy, who has more than 35 years experience in this area. Guest Lecture on Industrial Automation and its importance

A Guest lecture was organized by EEE branch of Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus on on 23/7/14 for the III year EEE students. Mr.Nilesh - Managing Director of TAACT, Nasik briefed the students on industrial automation and its importance , the need for its study and the importance of an automated engineer to the industrial sector.

A Guest Lecture by GRIET Assoc. Prof. E. Venkateshwarlu was conducted on 11th March, 2014 for II Year B.Tech. II Sem. EEE Students. He delivered lecture on Induction Motors and Transformers.

  • Programmable Logic controllers (PLC) in collaboration with M / s. Automation & Control Systems, Pune – This training is useful to get the jobs in the industry since the industry is automated control systems.
  • Programming Micro controllers & Micro processors – Today all the electrical equipment and electronic equipment are having microcontroller based control sytem. Students are encouraged to submit hardware mini and main projects using micro controllers.
  • Electrical Safety systems – This is very much essential for electrical students
  • MATLAB – This is one of the tool used In the power systems and research field to solve the problems. Students are encouraged to take up the main projects and solve IEEE papers using MATLAB.
  • Power Medicine in collaboration with St. Johns Ambulance Society, Hyderabad
  • Eminent persons from industry, research organizations like CPRI and universities are invited to give a talk on the recent developments in the industry and research.
  • Conducted workshop on Robotics in collboraton with M/s. Jay Robotics Private Limited, Hyderabad for II Year students

EETA (Electrical and Electronics Technical Association) – This is a Department students association working under the guidance of the senior faculty.
